Questions from parents/carers

  1. How often should my child take an asymptomatic Lateral Flow Device home test?
Your child should take a test twice weekly (e.g. Sunday and Thursday). If your child needs a new box of tests they should inform their Form Tutor. All test results should be reported to the School on testregister.co.uk and then also on the government website linked from there. You should also inform the School your child will be absent from school in the usual way.
  2. Will my child have to isolate as a contact if another child is positive?
Schools are currently not responsible for identifying proximity contacts. NHS test and trace may contact you for information regarding possible contacts if your child test positive. However, currently those who are fully vaccinated or who are under 18 do not need to isolate if named as contacts.
  3. What should I do if my child has symptoms of COVID-19?
Your child should not attend school. Inform the School and arrange for a PCR test and isolate until test result is known. Click here for more information.
  4. What should I do if my child tests positive on an asymptomatic Lateral Flow Device home test?
Your child should not attend school. Inform the School, arrange for a confirmatory PCR test and isolate until the test result is known. Click here for more information.
  5. What do I do if my child is confirmed positive with a PCR test?
Please complete the form at the top of this page to record the result with the School.
  6. What should I do a member of my household has symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive on a PCR test but my child does not have symptoms and does not have a positive test result?
All those under 18 and all those who are fully vaccinated do not currently have to isolate even if they live in the same household as a positive case. They are, however, encouraged to take a PCR test. Your child should attend school unless symptomatic or they receive a positive test result themselves.
